The graphic element in this project is the diamond. By choosing a stock of paper that contains subtle textures that were brought out with lighting and focusing on certain areas of the composition I was able to merge images with sharp and blurry edges to move away from the direct appearance of paper. To accomplish this task I experimented with photographing paper as the source of the imagery and in order to emulate the setting of the story and feeling of wonder and magic that is Aladdin, I decided to curve and twist strips of paper and overlapped them to create different compositions and sense of depth. The Aladdin Postcards is a set of cards design with the intention to not only provide those who want to attend the play with general information but to also be designed in a way that is abstract and visually eye catching to the recipients who receives the postcards.
